![]() If you have a lot to plug in, bring a (two pronged) power bar. ![]() There weren’t a lot of power plugs in the room. We weren’t really too worried about someone hauling our safe away though. As someone else mentioned the safe wasn’t secured very well. But the kitchen sink had a definite whiff of sewage stink coming out of it. All three drains in the bathroom were fine. One big failing grade I will give the room was the sort of kitchen sink just as you enter the room. You can often smell the same smell the minute you step off the plane and onto the bridge at the airport. We’ve experienced this in the Caribbean many times before. Ours was slightly musty, but not too bad. I also saw many complaints about the rooms being musty. I’ve been in fancier hotels with better shower heads that had half the flow of this one, so based on that, I will give the shower a 10/10. I saw a review complaining about the shower head that made me laugh. My suggestion for a shower or bath is to run the cold fully and control the temperature with the hot. In fact, there wasn’t enough cold water to control the hot water. Everything in the bathroom worked properly and there was plenty of hot water. As many have already mentioned, the room was very dated. Unlike most resorts we’ve been to, they want it back at the end. The check in was relatively quick and easy. This was our first time vacationing in Mexico after staying at many different comparable resorts in Cuba and the Dominican Republic. My wife and I vacationed with our two kids at the Samba Vallarta in March. I can answer any ones question ( well, I can try) just message me. Looking forward to seeing our Samba family and other friends ( for our 7th? stay),that spend their winter holiday every year at this resort, we have met sooooo many nice people. My only wish is that the Samba had some kind of loyalty program to reward us for spending our hard earned money every year at their resort. Yes there were a lot of Mexican families ( mostly on the weekends ), we find them very friendly and the children very well behaved, but I absolutely love laying on the beach and listening to everyone speak Spanish around me. We have very much enjoyed seeing Carlos, Martin, Salvador, Bruno, Norma every year, and they remember us!!!!! The pool was nicely updated and no loose tiles!! Our drinks were always top notch, and beach and pool service was fast and friendly. The staff work hard all day and evening to keep it clean! I have to give a shout out to ALL the hard working staff, it is just not fair to mention a few when everyone we met went out of their way to make sure we had an enjoyable holiday. The staff are so friendly and very willing to help in anyway and always have a smile on their faces!! We enjoyed both al la carte's, but found the buffet just as enjoyable! although it was nice to be served at the table ( and the special coffee's were delish!) Yes the rooms are dated and have a musty smell, but mostly its from the humidity and nothing to do with the cleanliness of the hotel. Ohhhh I can not believe I forgot to post my review!!! We have just booked the Samba for Feb-Mar 2024 and thought I would look back at the latest reviews and noticed I hadn't posted for our last trip!! Where to start!!! We love the Samba it is our home away from home.
